USU Introduces USUProxy Service as Digital Access for the Academic Community

USUProxy is designed to meet the needs of the academic community (sivitas akademika), which increasingly relies on digital-based scientific literature.

MEDAN – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), through the Directorate of Digitalization and System Integration (Ditgrasi USU), introduces USUProxy, a smart access platform that allows students and lecturers to access various library digital resources from outside the campus network. This innovation reinforces USU's steps in strengthening the technology-based learning ecosystem as part of the transformation toward an integrated smart campus.

USUProxy is designed to meet the needs of the academic community (sivitas akademika), which increasingly relies on digital-based scientific literature. Through this service, students and lecturers can easily access:

  • National and international E-Journals.
  • USU Library E-Books.
  • Academic reference sources requiring campus network authentication.

With USUProxy, users can access reference sources from home, the workplace, or even from out of town. This convenience provides greater flexibility, especially for students who are working on final assignments (theses/dissertations), conducting field research, or participating in academic activities off-campus.
