Medan, 20 September and 9 October 2024 - The Directorate of Digitalization and System Integration of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Technical Guidance entitled 'Synchronizing Google Scholar and Lecturer Profiles' for homebase lecturers of the undergraduate program of pharmacy, pharmacist profession, master of pharmaceutical science, and doctor of pharmaceutical science of the Faculty of Pharmacy of USU. This event aims to increase the visibility of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in the Webometrics ranking, with the main focus on managing lecturers' academic profiles on the Google Scholar platform.


This technical guidance was held in two sessions, namely on Friday, 20 September, and Wednesday, 9 October 2024, in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mrs. Khairunnisa, S. Si., M. Pharm., Ph.D., Apt., and officially opened by Mr. Emerson Pascawira Sinulingga, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.


In her speech, Mrs. Khairunnisa, S. Si., M. Pharm., Ph.D., Apt. emphasized the importance of optimizing lecturers' academic profiles to support the improvement of the international reputation of the Universitas Sumatera Utara. 'Synchronising lecturers' academic profiles on Google Scholar not only facilitates access to scientific publications but also significantly contributes to university rankings on a global scale,' she explained.

 


The event was welcomed enthusiastically by the participants, who were lecturers from various levels in the Faculty of Pharmacy. Through interactive training sessions, they were given technical guidance on managing, updating, and maximizing the use of Google Scholar to improve their digital footprint and academic profile.

 


The technical guidance activity is expected to have a positive impact on increasing the visibility of the Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers' scientific publications and, overall, boosting the ranking of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in future Webometrics rankings.
