"Erasmus+ Industry 4.0 Info Days" at Inter Coffee USU
DITGRASI USU - On September 2, 2023, the "Erasmus+ Ind 4.0 Info Days'' activity was held at Inter Coffee USU. Mr. Emerson Pascawira Sinulingga ST, M, Sc. Ph.D as the head of the Erasmus + Master in Industry 4.0 team at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) USU, invited the entire Erasmus + Ind 4.0 USU Team to attend to participate in this socialization event.

On September 2nd, 2023, the "Erasmus+ Ind 4.0 Info Days" was held at Inter Coffee USU. Mr Emerson Pascawira Sinulingga ST, M, Sc. PhD, as the head of the Erasmus + Master in Industry 4.0 team at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), invited the entire Erasmus + Ind 4.0 USU Team to participate in this socialization event. This event was held on the agenda to socialize the concentration of Industry 4.0 and a Friendly Meeting for the Erasmus + Ind 4.0 USU Team, Lecturers, Students, and Alumni of Universitas Sumatera Utara.

The event began at 09.00 AM and ended at 12.00 PM, starting with remarks by the Chairman of Erasmus, Mr Emerson Pascawira Sinulingga and then continued with the presentation of material. At this event, the Erasmus + Ind4.0 USU Team discussed materials related to the Erasmus + work program. Some of those included in the presentation include Details of Erasmus + Industry 4.0 Cooperation, Activity Timeline, Curriculum Proposal, Faculty / School Managing Industry 4.0 Study Program and others. From the results of the performance discussion between the entire Erasmus + Ind4.0 USU team, several things can be concluded on Cooperation by the Erasmus + Ind4.0 team abroad; namely, this program has the aim of one of which is to establish a Masters program in Industry 4.0 in Indonesia, Cambodia and Malaysia. The program will be multidisciplinary that combines various technology sectors (e.g. cyber-physical systems, internet of things and big data analytics) with application areas, namely manufacturing, agriculture and health.

In addition, the Erasmus+ Ind4.0 USU team also has plans to establish a supporting laboratory and Virtual Learning Environment in the field of Industry 4.0. The Cooperation Partners, which include Malaysia (UiTM, UniKL, UTM), Cambodia (UHST, UBB, MCU, MoEYS), Indonesia (USU, Unsyiah), Greece (HOU, AMC, BK), Italy (USGM, Sapienza) have started since December 19th, 2019 and are planned to be completed on December 18th, 2023. However, this collaboration had previously experienced delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Based on the presentation presented, several conclusions related to the benefits that Universitas Sumatera Utara will obtain are as follows:
- The existence of a new Study Program as a form of response to the Merdeka Campus and focusing on current and future challenges (Industry 4.0).
- Implementing International Cooperation with the European Union multilateral organization (Erasmus +) and supported by 13 institutions/universities in ASEAN and 2 European countries.
- Achievement of the 2020-2024 USU Strategic Plan Targets, including acquiring international cooperation funds and a curriculum that suits the needs of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
- Universitas Sumatera Utara will have laboratory facilities that are by the needs of Industry 4.0 and are funded directly through the Erasmus + Industry 4.0 Cooperation.
Universitas Sumatera Utara will achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on various sides, such as international standard laboratories, interdisciplinary courses, and international mobility of lecturers.

To support the smooth running of the goals to be achieved, the Erasmus + Industry 4.0 team at Universitas Sumatera Utara has designed a proposed Industry 4.0 curriculum that is applied to faculties related to technology and digitalization; they have also determined a list of industry 4.0 concentration elective courses, as well as a course organization matrix in the industry 4.0 concentration curriculum structure. The event ended at 12.00 WIB and was closed with a meal with all members, a friendly meeting, and a group photo session.
