SI Konten USU’s Synergy of Roles
By implementing this standardized and sustainable role management, Universitas Sumatera Utara can strengthen the foundation of its digital transformation
Article
Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) continues to strengthen its digital system governance as part of its commitment to providing secure and sustainable services. This strengthening is realized through structured and systematic user role management, tailored to the operational needs of each work unit. Each role is assigned strategic responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation and security of the systems in use.
Amidst an increasingly complex digital ecosystem, the precise division of roles serves as a vital foundation for maintaining the stability of information technology services. Proper role management not only supports smooth workflow processes but also minimizes the risk of errors, reduces the potential for access misuse, and strengthens system security against various digital threats. The roles established within the system have clear functions and scopes of work, including:
Super Admin This role has full access to all system features, modules, and settings. The Super Admin is responsible for core management, main configurations, and comprehensive oversight of USU’s digital system operations.
University Admin (Admin Universitas) The University Admin is authorized to manage content, update information, and handle settings at the university level. This role ensures that university information is presented consistently, validly, and is accessible to the entire academic community (sivitas akademika).
Work Unit Admin (Admin Satker) The Work Unit Admin is tasked with managing content for their respective work units, including faculties, institutions, or bureaus within USU. This role ensures that each unit has autonomy in managing information while remaining aligned with university standards.
Manager (Pengelola) The Manager plays a role in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of operational data. This role supports the availability of accurate and updated data as a basis for strategic decision-making at both the unit and university levels.
This well-organized role structure creates a work mechanism that is more directed, clear, and efficient. Furthermore, this structure helps the university maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information, which are the primary components of digital security.
By implementing this standardized and sustainable role management, Universitas Sumatera Utara can strengthen the foundation of its digital transformation. This step is expected to guarantee security, smooth operations, and improved quality of digital services for the entire academic community.
